What is a Nonogram?
A Nonogram is a picture logic puzzle built from rows, columns, and number clues. Each clue describes one or more groups of filled squares in that line. By combining what the row clues and column clues tell you, you can determine which cells must be filled and which must stay empty until a hidden pixel picture appears. Nonograms are also commonly known as Picross, Griddlers, or Hanjie puzzles.

How to Play Nonogram
Mark what is certain
Fill cells that must be black and use × marks for cells that must be empty. Recheck the crossing rows and columns after every useful deduction.
Reveal the picture
Keep alternating between rows and columns. The puzzle is complete when the correct filled-cell pattern has been found; marking every empty cell is optional.

Start with the most constrained lines
Long clues in short lines usually give you the most certain information first. Solve those lines before spending time on clues with many possible positions.
Use overlap
When a run is long enough, its possible placements overlap. Cells covered in every legal placement are guaranteed to be filled even before you know the run's exact position.
Mark completed runs
Once a run is fixed, mark the cells immediately outside it as empty. Those × marks often create the next deduction in a crossing line.
